- Congratulations! Nick Demas has received the Walter D. Hodson Award
from the
Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE)
for youthful/ student best paper award published in 2007. The
paper is titled “Ultra High Pressure Tribometer for Testing
CO2
Refrigerant at Chamber Pressures up to 2000 psi to Simulate Compressor
Conditions” and was authored with Prof. Polycarpou.

- Congratulations! Prof. Polycarpou and Xi Shi received the K.L. Johnson
Best
Paper Award (Contact Mechanics Committee, Tribology Division, American
Society of Mechanical Engineers, 2007) for best contact mechanics paper published in an ASME journal, for the
paper titled "Investigation of Contact Stiffness and Contact Damping
for Magnetic Storage Head-Disk Interfaces" (J. of Tribology, Vol. 130,
2008).

by The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (Cyprus, 2007).
